History||
He was built by an engineer who worked alone and in secret, and created Irirai all by himself. Unfortunately, this engineer died before the completion of this project, and for twelve years Irirai's metallic body was left in that decaying room, the high-quality metals and materials he was made from rejecting rust, wear and tear. A freak thunderstorm jump-started his system, but even so the laboratory was locked up and he was trapped inside. And so, for three more years, he 'lived' alone there, pondering existence and learning the books he had been left with by heart, not even with a window to view the outside world.
By his third year of 'living', he discovered records of his creation process and of his creator. Not quite understanding the pouring of the feelings and hard work projected as words on the pages, Irirai was on the verge of, to put it in humanistic terms, committing suicide. In other words, to destroy his 'charger', a wire connecting from the wall to a small keyhole-like opening where his right eye should have been. By chance, a team of investigators charged into the four-storey building, ready to scavenge whatever they could from the former no-longer-secret research area of a famous professor, mathematician and musician. They busted the lock... and found Irirai.
At first confused to be a human boy, the four-membered group of equal men and women took him in. Upon investigation, they discovered that Irirai was, in fact, a robot. A 'Vocaloid', but unfinished. Unfinished, they knew, because the records stopped abruptly and Irirai had not sung or spoken a single word since their meeting. Unable to care or maintain him properly without spending a huge sum of money every month or so, they passed on the robot, Kodobara Irirai as his creator had named him, to the late Professor's great-grandaughter, only seven years old. She was a genius of a child named Theia who was mature and independent in a pampering adult world, with the same love and affinity for robotics as her great-grandfather once had. She took care of him for some time, and then the day she became curious about his lack of voice, despite being a 'Vocaloid' robot, came.
When she probed his programming, she unearthed the fact that Irirai had not yet been given a voicebank and, not being able to find a good singer to provide a voice for him, decided to go for the unique angle: Thea provided for him a recording and playback function that allowed him to repeat words said by others, and adjust the pitch as needed to make it sound as normal as possible. This also allowed him to record songs and sing them, with only one drawback: he wouldn't ever be able to sing his own original songs without, for example, splicing melodies from other original songs.
Irirai, she also discovered, had a built-in learning software installed that had been running since the day he booted up. And, after all those years alone, he had adjusted himself to learning to be alone. This explained Theia's observations that Irirai had no idea how to interact with humans or, in fact, other people or animals, after being accustomed to not seeing them at all. Thus, she decided to send him to school. Not a normal one, of course, but one she had recently heard about specifically for 'people' like him... Vocaloid Academy.

His/her personality|| Blank and usually at a loss at what to do when it comes to interacting with others, he may seem unfriendly or even arrogant at first. Doing things he like(for example, drinking soda) makes him feel like he can think better, so he might even seem to be ignoring you. In reality, he's attempting to carefully formulate a reply. Except for talking and generally socializing with others, he's fairly confident and unafraid. He's also very curious about things that he's never seen, particularly animals, different types of food(which he loves only second to soft drinks) and cuisine, dictionaries(amazing collections of information about language) and books.
